1. What is Christ Renews His Parish? (CRHP)
Christ Renews His Parish is centered around a renewal weekend designed to bring parish members together in Christ in a relaxed and comfortable environment. With its focus on the Gospel, it can enrich your relationship with God and your family while offering an excellent opportunity to meet, and get to know other Blessed Teresa parishioners.
2. Is it a new program?
Christ Renews His Parish has been in existence since 1969 and is serving in over 1000 parishes, in 85 dioceses, and in 35 states. It is recommended by the Office of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops as a primary instrument of personal and parish renewal for parishes in the U.S.
3. What happens on the weekend?
The renewal weekend provides an opportunity for individual spiritual growth through prayer, scripture and reflection, as well as new insights gained from small group discussions. You will have the opportunity to share conversation and thoughts (as much or as little as you desire) with others in the parish who are also seeking Christ in the demands of everyday life presented by families, society and jobs.
4. Who conducts the weekend?
The weekend will be ministered by a team of parishioners who have previously attended a Christ Renews His Parish Weekend.
5. What about the sacraments?
Mass will be celebrated during the weekend. An opportunity for Reconciliation will be available for all who desire this sacrament. There will also be opportunities for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
6. Who may attend the weekend?
Any adult parishioner of Blessed Teresa may attend. Separate weekends are held for men and women.
7. Where will the weekend be held and how long will it last?
The weekend location will be Blessed Teresa parish. It will begin Saturday morning and end late Sunday afternoon. Men’s Weekend: March 27-28, 2010. Women's Weekend: September 11-12, 2010.
8. Is there a commitment after?
You can attend and enjoy the weekend as a gift from the parish with no further commitment. There is also the rewarding opportunity to be a part of a team and help give the next renewal weekend.
