How to Help

Become a Youth Ministry Volunteer

We need help with both and EDGE middle school and Life Teen high school ministries!

You don't have to be young or a great speaker. The teens need you to be YOU!

Frequently asked questions...

Is there an age range of those who can help?

Nope! Only 18+ We need adults of all ages involved! Especially for those teens without a supportive father, mother, or even grandfather or grandmother in their lives, it is important to have role models at youth group who can demonstrate what that type of support should look like in their lives.

I can't run around with the teens, can I still help out?

Yes! Just because you may not be able to run around, you can still participate by leading small groups, giving talks, or simply by being present (being the person to sit next to a teen and ask how their day has been).

What is the time commitment?

*For middle school, EDGE nights are each week, but perhaps an occasional meeting might be scheduled to plan as with other group leaders. *For high school, Life Teen Nights meet every Sunday night, with an occasional meeting to plan as a group for special events, retreats or trips.

Do I need a background check?

Yes! Contact the parish office and we will walk you through the process. Click on the “Important Safe Environment Updates” box on BTC homepage, or: If you have questions or concerns, please contact Carol Breckle at 314.524.0500 ext 351 or

I'm interested! What's next?

First, contact Jeff and express which group you'd like to help with. Then you will have to submit a background check and complete a "Protecting God's Children" youth volunteer training class (Click on box on homepage)… then you're good to go!
